Who?

Bringing 20 young people in Belgium with the purpose to explore the connections between arts and human rights activism.

This is in a non-profit project for artists willing to learn about human rights and use their skills for social change. We are looking for the following profiles:

  • communications and social media management during the activities

  • capturing the moments of the project, as well as shooting the created artworks

  • taking videos and creating the after-movie

  • Exploring, reflecting upon and discussing human rights challenges and violations across Belgium

  • Acquiring skills and savoir-faire in different techniques of street art

  • Painting murals with human rights messages in public spaces of the city

Objectives
  • Explore, reflect and discuss the human rights challenges we are facing in Belgium

  • Share and discuss different practices of Human Rights activism, focusing on creative expressions

  • Meet and connect with other artists and activists

  • Acquire savoir-faire in different methods of street art

  • Create artworks in the public spaces of Ghent and Brussels.

Logistics

Accommodation, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be provided daily during the entire project. All the costs related to creating street artworks will be covered (paints, brushes, scaffolding etc.).
